Schemes of Department Of Public Enterprises

The Department of Public Enterprises has three on-going schemes:

 

Training Programmes:

The Department of Public Enterprises through private agencies conducts training programmes for the officers/officials working in the sixty state public sector undertakings. Training is imparted in technical, administrative, financial, human resources management. In, 2019-2020, an allocation of Rs 1.1 crore was made in the state budget towards this programme. Totally 354 officials from 23 PSEs were trained in 1)Elements of Costing for Non-Finance People 2)Statutory Compliance Management in State PSEs 3)Contract Management Programme 4)Goods and Service Tax 5)Use of Big Data for Company Operations (Data Analytics & Management) 6)Energy Audit & Conservation in Electrical Energy System 6)Motivational Methodologies for Performance Improvement 7)Theme Based Costing-Focus Cost Control and Management, Budgeting and Variance Reporting and Control Mechanism 8) Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement 9)Cost Reduction, Cost Control & Activity Based Cost Management 10)Auditing & Various types of Audit 11)Purchase & Inventory Management programmes conducted through 1)Centre for Professional Excellence & Management Studies, Bangalore 2)Sri Vadiraja Institute of Management Studies, Bengaluru 3)Centre for Sustainable Development, Bengaluru 4)Corp Wizard, Bengaluru 5)National Productivity Council, Bengaluru 6)Centre for Enrepreneurship Development of Karnataka, Dharwad 7)The Institute of Cost Accounts of India, Bengaluru private organizations. Evaluation of Public Sector Enterprises:

The department of Public Enterprises assigns the evaluation of the performance of the PSEs to the Karnataka Evaluation Authority or to private agencies. In 2019-2020, an allocation of Rs. 30/- lakh was made in the budget for evaluation. The Government Order is enclosed here. Reports are awaited from KEA.

 

Chief Minister’s Annual Ratna Award:

In order to appreciate, recognize & motivate PSEs to optimise their productivity and services, every year five best performing enterprises are selected for the Annual Chief Minister’s Ratna Award. This award consists of Rs.150.00 lakhs cash Award, an Appreciation Certificate and a memento. During 2019, 1)Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Ltd 2)Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd 3)Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd 4)Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd 5)Karnataka Women’s Development Corporation Ltd organizations were given amount of Rs.30.00 lakhs each.
